Argile Blanc 2020 - Ardoisieres Savoie France

Extremely complex. MIneral, stony critrus, round acidity, subtle smokiness, its not an aromatic style but screams class and subtlety. We can really feel the cool climate of Savoie in this wine, made from a mix of adult and old vines and aged in fibre glass for 9 months, a perfect marriage for a cheese soufflé or pork dish. Argile Blanc is the flagship white of the house.

Producer: Domaine Ardosieres, these guys are making some of the best Savoie wines around with just 9.5 ha just east of Chambery. Heroic Viticulture is the name of the game here with steep slopes to contend with. Savoie can rival Burgundy in elegance and charm for whites and Rhone Valley for reds and certainly does in their case, the best of the best.
